One of the new accounts I decided to follow on Twitter is actually a researcher of one of the articles I am using in my scicomm article! Livio Favaro wrote an article I am using about penguin vocal behavior and has written many articles about penguin behavior. The second account I followed this week is also another researcher from the articles I have created annotated bibliographies for, which you can find in my Research Agenda tab. Noori Choi, is studying behavioral ecology and wrote the foundational article I am using about vocal behavior in penguins during foraging trips. The last researcher I found to follow, was someone who Livio Favaro followed, which is Alan McElligott, an associate professor in animal behavior and wellness. His account and his research is more general but is a great way to learn more about animals! We were also tasked to scrolling through different hashtags on Twitter and the ones I chose were, #animalactivism, #penguinfacts, and #penguins. Out of these 3, the one that was most useful was #penguinfacts because the majority of the tweets were research and findings about penguins condensed to small facts. Out of the three tweets I did this week, I think this tweet, check screenshot above, was my best one because I was able to give a quick summary of the article, the main idea, and the limitation of it. The blog post I decided to look at was from my classmate, Juliana Granillo, which was about annotating the Nova Bird Brain documentary. Since I had analyzed this documentary as well for my blog post, I thought it was extremely interesting to read her take on the documentary. What I really liked about her blog post was that it contained so much information about birds yet it was extremely easy to understand and the way she worded everything sounded professional and mature.
